In 1969 the Capri Mkl was first seen in Britain with the marketing slogan, 'The car you always promised yourself'. This little baby predates this, back to the early 60's. I think because Ford had about 4 cars called Consul this and Consul that this didn't qualify as a Capri Mkl, being a Consul Capri. Whatever, the side windows have the classic Capri shape to them although the fins are very Chevy Impala inspired - with typical British reserve.
They were rare when new and are very rare nowadays. I've only seen 2 in the past 10 years. One was at a classic car meet on the Isle of Wight and the other was in a workshop in Coventry, This one was a real beauty. She had been completely rebuilt and sprayed in pearlescent pepermint green. She had a Pinto 2.2 engine fitted and the rear suspension was heavily modified. All she needed was the interior fitting and some chrome replacing and she was ready. Sadly her owner was killed in a motorcycle accident before she was finished and I don't know what happened to the car after that.
Thanks, I agree with the background idea. When I get time I might put backgrounds on some of the others too. For this one I think it needs to be outside a coffee bar with juke boxes and neon signs. I have an idea where I can find the reference, so one day.......
Its a long time since I drew something from the real world. I can see the images in my mind, but when I look too closely they just seem to go misty! Never mind, the web is a wonderful place to look for the right image to render.
Happens to me as well, I have many imaginations and I want to cut back on references, but drawing nature, industry or human figure needs practice before it becomes second nature to draw something.

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
